New York regulators are once again threatening to strand 400 MMcf/d of natural gas in Pennsylvania by denying Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Co. LLC’s (Transco) Northeast Supply Enhancement Project a water quality certification (WQC).

Williams Partners LP said Thursday Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line (Transco) has filed an application with FERC seeking authorization for its Southeastern Trail expansion project, which would open up more capacity to meet rising natural gas demand in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.

FERC published a favorabledraft environmental impact statement (DEIS) Friday for Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Co.’s (Transco) proposed Northeast Supply Enhancement Project, which would provide 400,000 Dth/d to residential and commercial customers in the New York City area.
