Shell Canada Touts Major Alberta Gas Discovery

Shell Canada said last week that it made a major natural gas discovery in Central Alberta. An exploration test well flowed at a restricted rate of about 30 MMcf/d, and Shell Canada estimates there is about 500-800 Bcf of gas reserves in place in the previously untested Leduc reef feature about 19 miles southwest of Rocky Mountain House in Alberta.

Falcon Touts Possible Texas Gas Find

Falcon Natural Gas Corp. (FNGC) shares gained a penny Thursday to end the day at $1.25 after a geological consulting firm concluded that its gas prospect in South Texas “will most likely be the next giant field discovered in the United States.” However, the company has not even done any exploration on field and provided few details to back up that statement.
