CMS Holds Last Call On Trunkline Space

CMS Energy said last week it plans to hold an open season thatcould determine the fate of all or part of the Trunkline Pipeline.During the open season, which begins today and will end Dec. 15,the pipeline intends to determine how many customers are willing tosign long-term firm transportation agreements at full tariff ratesfor service beginning April 2000.

Transco: No Penalties if There’s a Y2K Disruption

In the event of a Y2K-related disruption, Transcontinental GasPipe Line said any imbalances that are incurred on advancenominations by shippers during the first seven days of the New Yearwill be exempt from cashout penalties.

Enron Withdraws Protest over LNG Capacity

Enron Americas LNG Co. has withdrawn its protest alleging that Southern LNG Inc. showed preferential treatment when it awarded the entire capacity of its facility on Elba Island in Georgia, which it is seeking to reactivate, to its marketing affiliate. Since filing the protest in August, the two companies “have negotiated a commercial resolution regarding the future use of the Elba Island Terminal.” Enron LNG said it now supports Southern LNG’s bid for a preliminary determination by Dec. 31 and final approval in the first quarter of 2000 to upgrade and reactivate the mothballed terminalling facility. Energy East Gets CTG Shareholder Approval

Marking a clean sweep through the shareholder votes of its threepotential mergers, Energy East announced yesterday that stockholders of CTG Resources had “overwhelmingly” approved the proposeddeal. Energy East said it expects the CTG merger to be finalized bythe end of the second quarter next year. The CTG shareholdersapproved the transaction yesterday at a special meeting inHartford, CT.

Sonat lifted two forces majeure Friday. One was related to thecompletion of valve maintenance at the Dalton (GA) #2 delivery point(see Daily GPI, Oct. 15) that had begunThursday; the other had begun Oct. 3 in conjunction with a shut-intest and engine maintenance at the Bear Creek (LA) Storage Facility.

In an effort to increase their access to deep-water gas, TheCoastal Corp. announced last week that subsidiaries of ANR Pipelineentered in a series of agreements under which they collectivelyhave become joint owners in a new holding company, DeepwaterHoldings L.L.C. The financial terms were not disclosed.
