CNYOG Urges Quick Action on Marcellus Pipe Project

Officials with Inergy subsidiary Central New York Oil & Gas Co. LLC (CNYOG) have called on FERC to quickly issue a certificate so the company can begin construction of its MARC Hub Line project in northeastern Pennsylvania, saying failure to do so “would have significant adverse commercial consequences for CNYOG and its shippers.” The project would give northern markets greater access to Marcellus Shale gas.

UGI Energy Services Inc., a subsidiary of UGI Corp., said it plans to spend $150 million to build a 30-mile extension of its Auburn Gathering System. The project calls for extending Auburn from its terminus in Wyoming County, PA, to Luzerne County, PA, and for building a connection to the Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line. The extension is expected to be in service in the second or third quarter of 2013.

Wyoming Gets First Taste of Public CNG Fueling for Fleets

Encana Natural Gas Inc., a subsidiary of Encana Corp., on Tuesday opened its first natural gas fleet fueling station for public use in Wyoming. Fleet vehicles and drilling equipment will both be using compressed natural gas (CNG), and other fleet-based stations already operating in the state will open for public use.

GE Energy Financial Services has taken a stake in Summit Midstream Partners LLC, a developer of midstream energy infrastructure in unconventional North American basins. Financial details were not disclosed. GE Energy Financial Services’ current midstream equity and debt portfolio totals $2.4 billion. It has invested in a midstream master limited partnership, gas storage assets, a liquefied natural gas regasification terminal and 40,000 miles of gas pipelines. Summit Midstream’s assets include gathering, compression and dehydration facilities in the core of the Barnett Shale. It recently acquired South Piceance Basin assets in the Rockies from an Encana Corp. subsidiary (see Daily GPI, Oct. 12).

A subsidiary of China’s largest oil and gas producer, Sinopec International Petroleum Exploration and Production Corp., Sunday agreed to pay C$2.2 billion in cash to acquire Calgary independent Daylight Energy Ltd.

Landowners in Belmont County, OH, which has become a hotbed of activity for prospective shale exploration, are signing leases with ExxonMobil Corp. subsidiary XTO Energy Inc. to allow drilling to begin on their acreage, the company has acknowledged.
