In the Shale Era, Perryville Is the New Henry, Some Say

It has access to 17 pipelines, multiple and growing Midcontinent gas shale plays, and flexible storage capacity with more to come. Some say Perryville Hub in North Louisiana is the “hub of the future” and will someday overshadow Henry Hub, the South Louisiana home of the New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex) futures contract.

Williams Field Services (WFS) said the La Barge Compressor Station in the Green River gathering area was still down Thursday morning after experiencing an equipment failure Wednesday afternoon that resulted in decreased flows in the field and curtailment of volumes at the WFS-operated Opal Plant. WFS said it was making Cycle 4 nomination cuts for Wednesday’s gas day and Cycle 3 cuts for Thursday’s gas day “in order to align nominations with flowing gas.” Shippers were asked to rank their delivery priorities in anticipation of nomination reductions.

Rockies Express (REX) said Tuesday that a force majeure declared Nov. 14 east of Chandlersville Compressor Station remained in effect. However, it expected to restore partial service Wednesday in the section from near Chandlersville to its eastern terminus in Clarington, OH (Segment 390). The segment will initially be returned to service at about 88% of contracted capacity in effect prior to the force majeure event, REX said; this limitation is expected to stay in effect for less than two weeks. Starting with Wednesday gas day, the limited delivery capacity will become available at the following Clarington-area interconnects: Tennessee Guernsey, Dominion Noble, Dominion Clarington, TETCO [Texas Eastern] Clarington and E OH Gas [East Ohio Gas] Clarington.
