Tengasco Inc. of Knoxville, TN, is now selling gas from its SwanCreek gas field in eastern Tennessee. “We have signed an amendedagreement with Hawkins County Utility District in Rogersville, TN,to sell natural gas for industrial and residential customers,” saidMike Ratliff, Tengasco CEO.

PG&E Inks Two Gas Management Deals

PG&E Energy Trading signed one-year gas management contracts with Roanoke Gas Co. and its affiliate Bluefield Gas Co. last week that the LDCs say could save them $750,000 in capacity release costs alone. Financial terms of the contracts were not disclosed. The deals are expected to begin Nov. 1.

Coral Energy affiliates have signed a deal to supply gas to andpurchase the power from the proposed 830 MW Tenaska GatewayGenerating Station in Rusk County, TX. Construction of the plant isscheduled to begin this summer and be completed in spring 2001. Aspart of the deal, Coral also has gained an equity position inTenaska Gateway Partners, which will build, own and operate thefacility. It is Omaha-based Tenasaka’s second power project in thelast two years. “Joining with Tenaska in the Gateway GeneratingStation supports Coral’s strategy to build a power generationplatform that complements our marketing and trading activities,”said Coral CEO Charlie Crisp. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Oneok Capitalizing on Gas With Power Entry

Oneok Inc. plans to enter the electric generation and powermarketing businesses with an Oklahoma generating facility. Thecompany signed a contract with General Electric to buy four gasturbine generators with a capacity of 300 MW. A generation facilityencompassing the four units will be constructed and in service byJune 1, 2001.

Marriott to Save in Deal with PG&E Energy

In the first of its kind for the hotel industry, PG&E EnergyServices has signed a five-year, $165 million deal with theprocurement arm of Marriott International to provide natural gas,electricity and various energy services to 130 properties inCalifornia. As other states open their energy markets, PG&Ehopes to do other deals with the huge Bethesda, MD-based hoteloperator, which has 1,800 properties worldwide.

CMP Natural Gas (CMPNG) said it has signed a long-term contract to deliver gas on a proposed pipeline lateral to a 540 MW gas-fired power plant being built in Westbrook, ME, by Calpine Corp. Construction of the $200 million electric generating facility is under way and Calpine said it will require gas service by June 1, 2000.
