SoCal to Get LNG Fueling Network, Firm Says

Seal Beach, CA-based Clean Energy Fuels Corp. said Tuesday it plans to build LNG refueling stations throughout the region following the main trucking corridors between Los Angeles, San Diego and the points to the east in the Inland Empire of Riverside and San Bernardino counties. A backbone of hub LNG stations is envisioned, the company said.

AT&T Converting Vans to Natural Gas

AT&T recently asked a unit of Seal Beach, CA-based Clean Energy Fuels Corp. to convert 463 Ford vans to run on compressed natural gas (CNG). The converted fleet vehicles are to be delivered in the second quarter.

Natural Gas Vehicle Fuel Supplier to Buy BAF Technologies

Seal Beach, CA-based Clean Energy Fuels Corp. said Friday it has agreed to acquire Dallas, TX-based BAF Technologies Inc., a U.S. provider of natural gas vehicle systems and conversions. Clean Energy is a supplier of natural gas and gas-related infrastructure to the transportation sector — both compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG).

Los Angeles Signs LNG Transportation Fuel Deal

The City of Los Angeles has signed a 10-year deal with Seal Beach, CA-based Clean Energy Fuels Corp. for supplies of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to fuel a fleet of 340 sanitation trucks.

LNG Project for Transportation Fuel Starts Construction in California

For the skeptics, it can now be said that a liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant can be built in California, although the one that is under construction by Seal Beach, CA-based Clean Energy Fuels Corp. is for liquefaction of pipeline gas, is located far from any population center in the middle of the Mojave Desert and the liquid fuel will be used in heavy vehicle transportation.

Bearish Storage and Weather Seal the Deal for December

In addition to the shock surrounding the latest on the unraveling of market-maker Enron, natural gas traders and market watchers were rocked again Wednesday by another in a string of bearish reports by the American Gas Association. The group announced that 12 Bcf was injected into underground storage facilities for the week ending Nov. 23, bringing gas levels to a record 3,144 Bcf. In a fitting twist, December natural gas futures spiraled lower on the news, surpassing previous lows reached early in 1999, just weeks after storage levels had crested a new peak (at that time) of 3,127 Bcf.

AEC, TEPPCO Seal Jonah Gathering Deal for $360M

Coming to completion right on schedule, Houston-based Texas Eastern Products Pipeline Co. LLC, general partner of TEPPCO Partners LP, reported that it has finalized its acquisition of the Jonah Gas Gathering Co. from Green River Pipeline LLC and McMurry Oil Co., both wholly owned subsidiaries of Alberta Energy Co. Ltd. (AEC). TEPPCO said the estimated $360 million deal marks its entry into the natural gas gathering business.
