El Paso Corp. has completed the “creation of a fit-for-purpose organization” that resulted in job losses for about 40% of its corporate officers, 21% of its directors and 9% of the rest of the organization, not including field operations or field services businesses.

AEP’s Revamps to Build Wholesale Business

Saying that “corporate separation is our highest priority,”American Electric Power’s CEO E. Linn Draper announced this weekthat the company is undergoing a restructuring, and will place morefocus on its U.S. wholesale power generation, marketing and tradingbusinesses. It also will scrap previously announced plans to expandits overseas markets.

UtiliCorp United has announced that Robert K. Green, itspresident and chief operating officer, will take on the added roleof chairman of Aquila Energy and Keith Stamm, chief executiveofficer of the Australian utility United Energy, will becomeAquila’s CEO. Ed Mills will continue as president and chiefoperating officer of Aquila, the position he has held since 1998.
