UtiliCorp United has announced that Robert K. Green, itspresident and chief operating officer, will take on the added roleof chairman of Aquila Energy and Keith Stamm, chief executiveofficer of the Australian utility United Energy, will becomeAquila’s CEO. Ed Mills will continue as president and chiefoperating officer of Aquila, the position he has held since 1998.

“The three-person team leading Aquila into the new century isparticularly well-equipped not only to continue identifying andacting on growth opportunities for Aquila, but also to acceleratethat pace,” said Richard C. Green, Jr., UtiliCorp chairman andchief executive officer. “We’ll have the benefit of combiningseveral key elements: Bob Green’s experience putting togetherhighly successful partnerships, acquiring strategic assets anddriving earnings growth; Keith Stamm’s ability to hone businessprocesses, start profitable new businesses such astelecommunications, and lead organizations through dynamic change;and Ed Mills’ expertise managing complex product and serviceofferings and marketing operations, starting and buildingbusinesses, and maintaining our position as a major player indomestic and international energy markets.”

Charles K. Dempster, UtiliCorp senior vice president who hasserved as Aquila’s chairman and CEO since 1998, has been namedsenior vice president, international energy initiatives.
