Heat Helps Some Points Avoid Screen-Driven Dips
As anticipated, the previous day’s futures plunge of nearly 30 cents was reflected by overall softness in Tuesday’s cash market. But there was enough hot weather demand to distribute pockets of flat to higher prices here and there.
Price Drops Finally Acknowledge Mild Weather
After refusing to bow to weak weather fundamentals in the previous two days, prices practically did a curtsy for weather Friday with declines ranging from about a dime to a quarter. Pacific Gas & Electric, which Monday lifted an OFO that had been in effect for the previous two days, declared a new systemwide Stage 2 high-inventory OFO for Wednesday’s gas day. The Idaho Public Utilities Commission has asked for comments on the annual purchased gas adjustment (PGA) by June 11.
