Southern Seeks Expansion Approval at FERC

El Paso Energy’s Southern Natural Gas pipeline has filed anapplication at FERC seeking to expand its South Main system byabout 336 MMcf/d to serve utility power plants in North Carolinaand other southeastern markets.

El Paso said Friday the White Rock (NM) Station had been takenout of service for emergency maintenance. The pipeline heldcapacity out of San Juan Basin at the Cycle 2 scheduled rate of2,685 MMcf/d Friday but lowered the volume slightly to 2,680 MMcf/dfor Saturday’s gas day.

Open Season Starts For Atlantic Alliance

El Paso Energy’s Tennessee Gas Pipeline and CNG’s CNG Transmission announced an open season for their joint venture, the Atlantic Alliance Project, which started last week and will extend to Thursday, Sept. 30. Shippers will be asked to submit binding precedent agreements for service commencing November 2001 as part of the open season.
