SDG&E New Power Plant in Play from CA Gas Lawsuit Settlement

The 480 MW El Dorado power plant in Nevada may become a utility owned and operated facility under provisions of a $5 million settlement that Sempra Energy and its two California utilities reached with the state regulatory commission and attorney general’s office, Sempra announced Friday. San Diego-based Sempra placed the after-tax cost of the settlement at “less than $5 million.”

The Hess Corp.-operated Sea Robin Processing Plant resumed processing operations Monday night after being shut down unexpectedly Friday (see Daily GPI, Aug. 21), Sea Robin Pipeline reported. The pipeline asked shippers to adjust flows and nominations as needed.

Transportation Notes

The Hess Corp.-operated Sea Robin Processing Plant was shut down unexpectedly Friday, Sea Robin Pipeline reported. The plant will continue to dehydrate gas during this outage, it added. The pipeline said that if any downstream pipeline operator declines to accept Sea Robin deliveries while the plant is down, it will notify shippers as soon as possible of the need to move their gas to other delivery points. It urged shippers to contact downstream point operators to see if they will be accepting gas from Sea Robin.

Sea Robin Pipeline reported that the Sea Robin Processing Plant operated by Amerada Hess was back on-line and resumed processing around 7:30 a.m. CDT Saturday. The plant had most recently shut down on the morning of April 21 (see Daily GPI, April 24).

The Amerada Hess-operated Sea Robin Processing Plant resumed processing operations late Wednesday afternoon, Sea Robin Pipeline said. The South Louisiana plant had shut down unexpectedly last Saturday (see Daily GPI, April 20). The pipeline asked shippers to adjust gas flows and nominations as needed.

After reporting Thursday that the Amerada Hess-operated Sea Robin Processing Plant had resumed operations again that afternoon for the first time since shutting down during the passage of Hurricane Rita last fall (see Daily GPI, March 24), Sea Robin Pipeline said the plant had been shut down again Friday morning until further notice.
