Shareholders of SCANA Corp. and Public Service Company of NorthCarolina approved a two-step merger transaction under which PSNCwill become a wholly owned subsidiary of SCANA. Shareholdersrepresenting about 76% of Scana’s outstanding shares and about 80%of PSNC’s outstanding shares approved the two proposals. The mergerstill requires state and federal regulatory approvals. Completionis anticipated during the second half of 1999.

Transportation Notes

NOVA said a leak discovered in a flange assembly early Thursdayon its North Lateral in eastern Alberta is curtailing up to 500MMcf/d of upstream production. The line usually flows 1.6-1.7Bcf/d, a spokesman said. He estimated the leak will require 24-48hours of repair time, but no schedule has been set.

EEX Selling OK, TX Properties

EEX Corp. agreed to sell substantially all of its oil and gasproperties in Oklahoma and the Hardeman Basin, North Central Texas,for about $32 million in cash. Lariat Petroleum Inc. is acquiringthe properties in Oklahoma, and Key Production Co. Inc. isacquiring the Hardeman Basin properties. Aggregate daily productionfrom these properties is about 15 MMcfe/d of gas.
