About 200 MMcf/d of natural gas exports to Mexico could be interrupted starting Thursday because of a planned shutdown at North Baja Pipeline LLC’s import/export point at Ogilby, CA, natural gas analytics firm Genscape Inc. said Wednesday.

U.S. pipeline capacity for natural gas exports to Mexico has not only rapidly expanded in recent years, but it is expected to nearly double over the next three, according to the Energy Information Administration (EIA).

Howard Midstream Energy Partners LLC’s (HEP) Nueva Era Pipeline LLC has closed on $353.3 million in project financing for the construction of the Nueva Era pipeline, a 50-50 joint venture between HEP and Mexico-based energy and services firm Grupo CLISA.
