Florida Gas Transmission lifted Sunday a market-area Overage AlertDay notice that had been issued last Tuesday (see Daily GPI, May 10), but cautioned shippers it wouldcontinue to monitor hourly and daily takes.

Florida Gas Transmission said Thursday that unplanned compressormaintenance at Station 7.5 in Port Barre, LA, which it had expected toend last Monday (see Daily GPI, May 2),is continuing until further notice. The work limits upstream volumesto 875 MMcf/d. An Overage Alert Day notice for FGT’s market area (seeDaily GPI, May 10) remained in effectThursday.

Citing significant demand, Florida Gas Transmission issued anOverage Alert Day notice Tuesday for its market area. The noticehad a 10% tolerance for negative daily imbalances, but FGTsaid itmay reduce the percentage if conditions do not improve. Thepipeline, which previously re-evaluated system operations eachmorning before announcing whether an OAD would be extended, nowsays the notices will remain in effect “until further notice.”

Gas and electricity customers in Pennsylvania and New Jersey -previously served by Florida-based FPL Energy Services – soon willbecome customers of PP&L Energy Plus. PP&L EnergyPlus Co.,the retail marketing arm of PP&L Resources Inc., agreed toserve the customers after FPL Energy Services decided to exit thecompetitive energy markets in the Northeast. Terms of thetransaction were not disclosed.

While droves of developers are flocking to the Florida market tocash in on the gas-fired power generation bonanza, affiliates ofDallas-based Panda Energy are eyeing a market closer to home -Arkansas.
