Florida Gas Transmission lifted an Overage Alert Day Noticeaffecting its market area (see Daily GPI, May 4) for Thursday’s gas day, but warnedit will continue monitoring hourly and daily takes to ensure thatsystem integrity is maintained.

NGPL has scheduled an open season for May 15-June 15 to securecapacity commitments from shippers that will allow them to move gasfrom NGPL’s system to the Lebanon (OH) Hub or to points farthereast via Texas Eastern. According to a preview of the plan (seeDaily GPI, April 18), it will be accomplished through a reciprocallease of capacity between NGPL and Texas Eastern. One newinterconnect between the two pipes would be built at Bald Knob, AR.The capacity is expected to become available on or before Nov. 1,2000. Kern River is holding an open season through May 15 to assessinterest in additional FT service to Nevada and California and incapacity relinquishment by existing firm shippers. The pipelineproposes to offer both year-round and seasonal FT, subject to itsacquiring sufficient relinquished capacity and/or final FERCapproval of a mainline expansion. The anticipated date forbeginning new service under contracts with minimum terms of 15years is Nov. 1, 2001.
