BGE Expects Winter Gas Bills to Be 15% Lower than Last Year
Citing the mild hurricane season, increased U.S. natural gas production and its “proactive procurement” program, Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. (BGE), a utility subsidiary of Constellation Energy, announced Tuesday that its residential customers can anticipate a 15% decrease from last winter in the gas portion of their total bill during the upcoming winter heating season, which begins Nov. 1, 2006 and runs through March 31, 2007.

PG&E to Offer 20% Bill Credits in Two Winter Months
Energy savings of at least 10% in January and February next year can earn Pacific Gas and Electric Co. natural gas utility customers 20% discount on their subsequent monthly bills under a program authorized Thursday by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). The “10/20 Program” applies to all PG&E gas customers — residential, business, agricultural and government entities.

NV Utilities Modify Gas Hedging in IRP Case Agreement
As part of the ongoing integrated resource plan (IRP) state regulatory proceeding, Nevada’s two major private sector electric utilities agreed in a stipulation earlier in September to modify their approach to natural gas price hedging. The state attorney general’s consumer protection bureau, Nevada Resort Association and Nevada Public Utilities Commission (PUC) staff engineered the agreement with the utilities, which still must be approved by the three-member PUC.
