El Paso Eyes Two Rocky Mountain Pipe Expansions, Georgia-to-Florida Line

El Paso Corp. officials last Thursday said the company expects to file applications later this month at FERC for two expansions of pipelines to transport natural gas production out of the Rocky Mountain region. In addition, it plans to submit an application during the second quarter for a line to deliver gas from its Elba Island liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Savannah, GA, to northern Florida.

Magnum Hunter to Increase Permian Holdings Through $40M Acquisition

Magnum Hunter Resources said last week that it paid $40 million to an unnamed private company for 53 Bcfe of proved reserves (59% natural gas and 69% proved undeveloped) and 100 proved undeveloped locations in the Canyon, Clearfork, Spraberry and Wolfcamp formations of the Permian Basin of West Texas from a privately held company.

EnCana Sells More ‘Non-Core’ Assets, Totals $1.3B in Sale Proceeds Year to Date

Following through on previously announced divestiture plans, EnCana Corp. announced the sale of 66 Bcfe of conventional natural gas reserves in northeastern Alberta for US$219 million (C$292 million). The properties currently produce about 7,250 boe/d after royalties (9,400 boe/d before royalties). The Calgary-based buyer was not disclosed.

Williston Basin to Fire Up Grasslands Pipeline This Week

Nearly six months to the date it received a certificate, Williston Basin Interstate Pipeline Co. received FERC clearance last week to put into service the much-anticipated Grasslands Pipeline. The 253-mile pipe opens up a new route for producers to transport Powder River Basin coalbed methane gas and Rocky Mountain conventional supplies to markets in the Midwest and Midcontinent.
