People — Randall Crawford, EQT Corp.

EQT Corp. said in a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing that Senior Vice President Randall Crawford will resign his position on Feb. 28. Crawford also serves as COO of EQT Midstream Services LLC, the general partner of the company’s midstream master limited partnership, EQT Midstream Partners LP. The company did not say why Crawford is stepping down, only wishing him well in “the next phase of his life.” Crawford will leave the company after working there for two decades. CEO David Porges is set to retire sometime in the first quarter. He will be replaced by President Steven Schlotterbeck.

WSI Slashes Atlantic Hurricane Forecast

A relatively quiet 2013 Atlantic hurricane season and no sign of tropical activity on the horizon has prompted Weather Services International (WSI) to make a significant reduction to its tropical forecast. WSI forecasters said they now expect 15 named storms to form in the Atlantic Basin, including five hurricanes, one of them major (Category 3 or higher).

Alaska Reserves Tax Ballot Measure Will Go to Voters Nov. 7

The Alaska gas reserves tax ballot initiative, crafted last summer by Anchorage Democratic Reps. Eric Croft and Harry Crawford, was certified this week and will head to voters Nov. 7 regardless of what the legislature does with a bill that would impose a similar tax on state leaseholders.

Transportation Notes

Transwestern said Sunday it declared force majeure after experiencing a mechanical failure on Unit #1 at Crawford Compressor Station on the West Texas Lateral. Station capacity was reduced to about 32,000 MMBtu/d from the normal 60,000 MMBtu/d until the unit can be replaced. A replacement compressor will be available for service Thursday, Transwestern said, adding that it is working with customers to reroute affected gas to other receipt points.

Transwestern said its Crawford Lateral will be down for plannedmaintenance Tuesday and Wednesday. No flows will be scheduled atthe 500267 meter, affecting about 50 MMcf/d, the pipeline said.
