The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Thursday issued certificates for National Fuel Gas Supply Corp.’s Northern Access Project and Tennessee Gas Pipeline’s 230C Project, both of which would clear the path for the delivery of more Marcellus shale gas north into Canada.

FERC has granted Duke Energy Indiana certificates authorizing the company to construct and operate a pipeline across the border from Kentucky to Indiana to move natural gas to a coal-fired plant that Duke previously agreed to convert to gas-fired boilers.

FERC on Monday issued certificates for Columbia Gas Transmission Corp.’s Eastern Market Expansion, which is intended to expand storage capacity by 5.66 Bcf and provide up to 94 MMcf/d of storage deliverability and associated firm pipeline capacity to serve gas distributors in Virginia and Pennsylvania.
