Southern California Gas declared a high-linepack OFO for Saturday, saying it would assess Buy-Back charges in accordance with its tariffs to customers who delivered more than 110% of their actual gas usage into its system.

Plains Exploration Gains Entry into Piceance Basin with $946M Deal

Houston-based Plains Exploration & Production Co. (PXP), which up to now has concentrated its exploration efforts in California and along the Gulf Coast, last week gained entry into the natural gas-rich Piceance Basin of Colorado in an agreement estimated to be worth $946 million. The transaction, with privately held Laramie Energy LLC, is 97% weighted to gas, and it gives PXP 55,000 net acres, more than 200 producing wells and more than 3,000 additional potential drilling locations.

Southern California Gas issued a high-linepack OFO for Saturday but didn’t send the OFO announcement until that morning. The order, with a 10% tolerance for positive daily imbalances, was kept in place through Sunday before being allowed to lapse Monday.

Transportation Notes

Southern California Gas began maintenance Tuesday on Line 225 that will last through Thursday and is reducing available border delivery capacity at Wheeler Ridge by 780 MMcf/d to 100 MMcf/d. Additionally, storage withdrawal capacity has been reduced by 1 Bcf/d and injection capacity has been cut by 250 MMcf/d at the Honor Ranch facility.
