Law enforcement officers and biologists with the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) said this week they will begin conducting field inspections of active drilling sites for Marcellus Shale gas wells beginning in December.
Tug, Barges Strike Louisiana Gas Pipe; Two Dead
A tug boat and two barges apparently struck a natural gas pipeline in Louisiana Thursday, killing two people and critically injuring at least two others. Three other people were confirmed missing by state police. The accident occurred near Gulfport Energy Corp.’s West Cote Blanche Bay production facility, located near Baldwin, LA.

Northern Natural Gas said late Wednesday afternoon that due to weather conditions and dive boat availability, for the time being it is not anticipating the return to service of any platforms downstream of Matagorda 758 on the Matagorda Offshore Pipeline System (MOPS), which Northern operates. As of Tuesday Northern had hoped to restore operations at several MOPs platforms sometime Thursday (see Daily GPI, March 8).
ESAI: Speculators, Many Analysts Miss the Boat When Comes to LNG

(ESAI) said last week that they believe many industry analysts and the large number of new financial players in the gas futures market are underestimating the impact of rising liquefied natural gas (LNG) imports and could be in for quite a surprise near the end of the storage injection season.
