Gulf South said Saturday scheduled maintenance at its Bistineau Storage Facility in Bienville Parish, LA would continue for approximately four more days. Physical withdrawals are now available again, but physical injections will remain unavailable until the work is finished, Gulf South said. To the extent that firm service is interrupted during this period, Gulf South said it will claim force majeure for as long as service cannot be performed due to the maintenance.

Southern Natural Gas said it is experiencing receipts in excess of scheduled quantities and pipeline capacity west of the Bienville Compressor Station in North Louisiana, and that is threatening operational integrity. If the situation does not improve, Southern said, it will implement a Type 5 OFO for receipts in excess of scheduled quantities effective with the start of Saturday’s gas day until further notice.

Northern Natural Gas said Friday afternoon it had contracted a repair crew and dive boat that were en route to a leak site (see Daily GPI, March 2) on the Northern-operated Matagorda Offshore Pipeline System offshore Texas. Pending any weather delays, Northern expected the dive boat to arrive at the site late Saturday evening and repairs to begin Sunday. It anticipates restoration of service to some of the affected platforms downstream of Matagorda 758 by the start of Tuesday’s gas day.

The Bureau of Land Management — Eastern States leased 155 parcels of land in the Ouachita and Ozark National Forests in Arkansas, the Kisatchie National Forest in Louisiana, and the Bienville and DeSoto National Forests in Mississippi, bringing in $6.4 million in the latest competitive auction on March 24 in Springfield, VA.

Sonat reported completion Monday of integrity work that had begun Aug. 3 on the 14-inch Logansport Line west of Bienville Compressor Station in North Louisiana and required a reduction in flowing capacity. The finish beat a late August projection by Sonat that the work would not end until Sept. 3 (see Daily GPI, Aug. 24). The pipeline canceled an associated OFO Type 5 issued Aug. 26 and resumed accepting nominations at the J. W. Gathering point.
