Kansas City Power & Light and Western Resources successfully reached an agreement with the FERC settling all merger-related issues, Western Resources said last week. The company also said the agreement forged between the merging parties and the Missouri Public Service Commission staff is currently being reviewed by the Missouri commissioners. Only the Kansas Corporation Commission (KCC) approval stands in the way of the merger’s completion, the company said.

The lengthy and at times acrimonious fight between Oneok and theOklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC) over upstream unbundlingappears to be over. On Thursday, the OCC voted 2 to 0, with onecommissioner absent, to unbundle the upstream gas gathering andstorage services of Oklahoma Natural Gas (ONG) and Kansas GasService, divisions of Oneok Inc.

The New York State Public Service Commission has approved thesale of all electricity generating facilities owned by Orange andRockland Utilities, including a facility owned jointly withConsolidated Edison of New York, to affiliates of Southern Energy,Inc. for $476.3 million. The Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC) unanimously approvedthe proposed merger of American Electric Power Co. of Columbus, OH,and Dallas-based Central and South West Corp.
