Questar Announces Open Season for Gas Pipeline Expansion to Wyoming Hub

Salt Lake City-based Questar Pipeline Co. Tuesday announced an open season to gauge the level of interest in added interstate natural gas pipeline capacity in the Rockies between the Piceance Basin in western Colorado and the Kanda/Coleman hub in southwestern Wyoming. The open season will run through Sept. 5, Questar said. Potential volumes are in the 300-500 MMcf/d range, according to a Questar market representative.

Pinnacle LNG Announces Open Season in Alabama

Pinnacle LNG, Inc., a subsidiary of AGL Resources, has announced an open season from Feb. 18 to March 14, 2003 to seek natural gas storage and terminal service customers for its liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant located in Trussville, AL, and connected to the Southern Natural Gas mainline.

BP Posts Gains on Quarter, Full-Year; Announces Five-Year Plan

More than compensating for the company’s poor refining results, BP’s Exploration and Production (E&P) segment boosted net income to $651 million for the fourth quarter, compared to a loss of $603 million in the year earlier quarter. For full-year 2002, BP’s total net income increased to $6.85 billion from $6.56 billion in 2001. Sales on the year increased to $202.5 billion from $200 billion.

Long Island Announces Two Generators for Next Summer; Soon to Announce Third

The Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) is developing two new power generation projects for completion by next summer and will announce a third project in December, officials said Thursday. FPL Energy and PSEG Power have been selected to build the two facilities, which would add a combined total of 134.9 MW to enhance Long Island’s ability to introduce competition to its service territory.
