Pinnacle LNG, Inc., a subsidiary of AGL Resources, has announced an open season from Feb. 18 to March 14, 2003 to seek natural gas storage and terminal service customers for its liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant located in Trussville, AL, and connected to the Southern Natural Gas mainline.

In response to the growing demand for natural gas, Pinnacle LNG, Inc. provides LNG services to the Southeastern United States and recently entered into an agreement to purchase the Trussville LNG plant to serve the needs of customers in the region. The Trussville facilities have a total storage capacity of 408,400 Dth of gas, with the ability to vaporize 25,525 Dth/d and to liquefy at a net rate of 5,105 Dth/d. The vaporization capability can be increased by 25,525 Dth/d to a total of 51,050 Dth/d, if sufficient interest is generated from shippers. LNG truck loading services also can be accommodated at the facility.

The facility’s connection to Southern Natural is approximately 15 miles east of Birmingham, AL.

Consistent with the needs of its customers, Pinnacle LNG will place the LNG storage facilities into service under Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) certificate on or about July 1, 2003. That in-service date will enable the customers to fill the LNG tanks with their inventory by Nov. 1, the commencement of the 2003-2004 winter heating season.
