Idaho PUC Sets Workshops on Avista Gas, Electric Rates

Idaho regulators on Wednesday announced customer workshops June 28-29 on Spokane, WA-based Avista Utilities request in March that it be allowed to raise electric and natural gas retail utility rates for its customers in the northern panhandle part of the state. The sessions will be held in Lewiston and Coeur d’Alene, ID, respectively.

A federal appeals court Tuesday vacated a FERC order that allowed MoGas Pipeline LLC — an interstate pipeline system that was created in 2007 as a result of the consolidation of three pipe affiliates — to include “acquisition premium” costs in the pipeline’s initial rates.

Southern California Gas kept a high-linepack OFO in effect through Sunday, then allowed it to lapse Monday. However, on Monday afternoon the company reinstated the OFO for Tuesday. SoCalGas also said it had lost 60 MMcf/d of injection capacity at its Aliso Canyon storage facility Monday, declaring force majeure due to a need for repairs to Generator #1’s oil pump. The reduction is expected to last through next Monday.

Florida Gas Transmission allowed an Overage Alert Day that had been initiated last Thursday to lapse Tuesday, but it said a new one could be issued because of forecasted lows in the 30s in parts of Florida over the next several days.
