Jack L. Messman, chairman and CEO of Forth Worth, TX-based UnionPacific Resources Group, will retire and UPR President GeorgeLindahl III will succeed him as well as remain president of thecompany. Messman has led UPR for more than eight years. He joinedthe company in 1991 while it was a subsidiary of Union PacificCorp. He oversaw an initial public offering in 1995 and the fullspin-off of the oil and gas company from Union Pacific in 1996.Lindahl has more than 30 years experience in the oil and gasbusiness and came to UPR in 1987 as exploration manager afterworking for 19 years in exploration and production, primarily as anexecutive with BP Amoco. He has been the company’s president since1996.

Williams’ gas pipeline unit announced three organizationalchanges effective Aug. 1. Gary D. Lauderdale has been named seniorvice president and general manager of Williams GasPipeline-Transco; David L. Young has been named senior vicepresident and general manager of Williams Gas Pipeline-TexasGas/Central and Ronald M. Mucci will become senior vice presidentof Williams’ gas pipeline shared services group. The appointmentsfollow Williams’ July 1 promotion of Cuba Wadlington Jr. toexecutive vice president and COO. Wadlington will become presidentand CEO of the gas pipeline group upon Brian E. O’Neill’sretirement Jan. 1, 2000.

Altra Energy Technologies, consolidating its recent acquisitionsof TransEnergy Management, Energy Imperium and QuickTrade,announced a restructured management team. Mark Crosno, has beenpromoted to president of Altra’s Electronic Trading Services.William Betts, has been promoted to vice president of sales. CleveHogarth is senior vice president of the Client Services group.
