NYMEX Holdings Inc., announced that Michel Marks, who had served as chairman of the board of the New York Mercantile Exchange from 1978 to 1987, resigned from its board of directors Thursday. Marks has been a member of the board since May 2001, upon the creation of the equity owner category of the board. Nymex declined to give any reason for his resignation, which came a week after Nymex CFO, Lewis A. Raibley, III resigned. At that time, Nymex said Raibley was accepting a position with another company. Kenneth D. Shifrin, the company’s vice president and controller, was appointed acting CFO, while the search proceeded for Raibley’s replacement.
