Dominion Evantage Energy Consulting, a division of Dominion, announced the appointment of Arthur Malatzky as business development manager. Art will be responsible for growing Dominion’s consulting customer base nationwide, with a primary focus on the industrial sector. Prior to joining Dominion, Malatzky served as manager of energy purchasing and policy for Olin Corp., a large, energy-intensive chemicals and metals company and, following its spin off from Olin, he served in a similar position with Arch Chemicals, Inc. He also managed Doe Run Gas Marketing and Doe Run Gas Transmission, subsidiaries of Arch and Olin.

UtiliCorp United reported that Dan Streek will become the company’s interim CFO, effective Aug. 20. In addition to his UtiliCorp role, Streek will continue to serve as CFO of Aquila Inc., UtiliCorp’s 80%-owned subsidiary. He will succeed UtiliCorp CFO Peter Lowe, who is returning to Australia after completing a two-year assignment in the U.S. Lowe will become UtiliCorp’s managing director, Australasia, which is a newly formed position. UtiliCorp said Lowe came to the company’s Kansas City headquarters in June 1999 as an expatriate from United Energy. Streek, who joined the company in 1992, has held numerous positions over the last nine years, as he rose through increasingly responsible accounting positions within UtiliCorp and Aquila.

Chevron U.S.A Production Co. said on Wednesday that Kathleen Arthur has been tapped to replace Andy Hardiman as the the company’s vice president for the Gulf of Mexico deepwater business unit. Arthur was formerly the managing director of Norsk Chevron AS in Oslo, Norway. Chevron said Arthur, who has been with the company in different positions for 25 years, began her new assignment on July 1. Chevron’s deepwater business unit is one of the company’s two New Orleans-based units focused on exploration and production in the Gulf. The deepwater unit currently has a net production of approximately 41,000 boe/d.
