Consolidated Natural Gas announced that Ronald L. Adams, seniorvice president, regulated business, has decided to leave thecompany effective Sept. 1, triggering an interim managementrestructuring for local gas distribution, pipelines and storageuntil the previously announced merger with Dominion Resources iscompleted. As a result, the following personnel appointments havebeen made: Jimmy D. Staton, has been appointed senior vicepresident, distribution operations; Gary L. Sypolt, has beenappointed senior vice president, pipeline operations; Paul D.Koonce, has been named senior vice president, commercialoperations; and William A. Fox has been named senior vicepresident, Virginia gas distribution.

Charlie Bowerman, 60, executive vice president and member of theboard of directors of Phillips Petroleum, has announced hisretirement effective Dec. 1. He has been with Phillips for 38 yearsand has held a variety of executive positions.

Stone Energy announced that James H. Prince has been elected CFOand will continue in the capacities of vice president andtreasurer. Prince has served as vice president and controller ofthe company since 1981, adding the titles of chief accountingofficer, controller and treasurer along the way.

PG&E Energy Trading has named Michael L. Axton director ofgas trading, Midwest. Axton had been with Enron Capital & TradeResources as a director of natural gas trading working themid-continent region. He also served in several trading andmarketing positions with Amerada Hess Corp. Axton, who holds a MBAin finance from The Wharton School, will report to Tammy Norman,vice president of gas trading for PG&E Energy Trading.

Midcoast Energy Resources Inc. has announced Bill Bray will takeover the newly-created position of vice president of businessdevelopment with responsibility for coordination of Houston-basedMidcoast’s acquisition and expansion efforts, as well as theday-to-day management of business development activities. Bray hasbeen with the pipeline company’s business development team for thepast nine years.
