Questar Corp.’s Overthrust Pipeline said it has begun an open season to solicit binding support for construction of pipe and metering facilities to provide deliveries to Kern River Gas Transmission’s 20-mile Painter Lateral in southwestern Wyoming.

The proposed facilities will provide approximately 200,000 Dth/d of firm transportation capacity from receipt points on the Overthrust Pipeline, including Wyoming Interstate Co.; Colorado Interstate Gas; Questar Pipeline at Kanda, WY; Western Gas Resources’ plant in Sweetwater County, WY; and Clear Creek Storage in Uintah County, WY, for delivery to Kern River’s Painter Lateral.

Overthrust Pipeline said the facilities would serve the transportation needs of the growing Rocky Mountain natural gas producing areas in the pipeline’s service area, including the Wamsutter, Green River, Piceance, Overthrust and Uinta basins. It expects the proposed facilities to be in operation by Jan. 1, 2006, or possibly earlier.

The pipeline said it will accept bids on capacity through noon (MDT) on Aug. 26. For further information, contact Tom Myrberg at (801) 324-2978 or Gaylen Haag at (801) 324-5133 or go to the Overthurst web site at https://www.questarpipeline.com.

Overthrust Pipeline, which is owned and operated by Salt Lake City, UT-based Questar, is an 88-mile, 36-inch diameter pipeline network in southwestern Wyoming, with a transportation capacity of 500,000 Dth/d out of Rocky Mountain production basins.
