eCorp Marketing entered into an agreement with NJR EnergyServices (NJRES), a subsidiary of the New Jersey Resources Corp.,to provide transportation management, storage marketing and gastrading services in connection with Central New York Oil & GasCo.’s (CNYOG) proposed Stagecoach Natural Gas Storage Project inTioga County, NY. CNYOG is an eCORP subsidiary.

Under the terms of the agreement, NJRES will manage the bundledand unbundled marketing of storage and transportation services fromthe Stagecoach project and the Tennessee Stagecoach ExpansionProject. The proposed Stagecoach Project is an underground naturalgas reservoir storage facility which is designed to providemultiple cycles with high rates of injection and withdrawal. Theproject which is awaiting FERC approval is expected to be completedduring the summer of 2001.

“The Stagecoach Project represents a new class ofhigh-performance storage that will play an important role inmeeting the new demands being placed on the northeast gas markets,”said Laurence M. Downes, CEO of NJR.

To provide transportation service to the project, Tennessee GasPipeline Co., an affiliate of El Paso Energy, has filed a request withFERC for permission to build a lateral pipeline (see Daily GPI, Jan. 7). The proposed $86.5 millionStagecoach Lateral would attach the proposed storage project toTennessee’s 300-Line near Compressor Station 15 in Bradford County,PA. The 30-inch lateral would have a capacity of 500,000 Dth/d, andexpansion capabilities of up to 1 Bcf/d. The filing also proposed toexpand the available capacity on the 300-Line from the CompressorStation 319 to the Clinton Road delivery point by 90,000 Dth/d toaccommodate the new demand.

In related action, another eCORP affiliate, Twin Piers haspetitioned the New York Public Service Commission to build a 520 MWgas-fired generation plant to be located four miles fromStagecoach.
