Constellation Energy Source, a subsidiary of ConstellationEnergy Group, signed an agreement to provide energy managementservices including construction, ownership and operation of acentral plant that will provide the Pittsburgh Steelers withheating, air conditioning and hot water for their new 65,000-seatstadium. Under the multi-year agreement, the company will beginconstruction on the plant immediately and expects to have theproject finished by the spring of 2001. The stadium is scheduledfor completion by August 2001.

UniGridEnergy, a joint venture between PECO Energy’s ExelonCapital Partners and ACE USA Power Products announced the launch ofan online energy marketplace providing commercial and industrialenergy users and suppliers to interact and execute energytransactions. UniGridEnergy.com offers buyers information includingprice discovery and risk management tools, the company says. Itwill provide suppliers with comprehensive energy user data andtransmission scheduling. The web site allows buyers to post theirenergy needs, including deadlines, rate class, and energy loadprofile data. Suppliers are then able to respond real-time, andnegotiate with the buyer securely online.
