Conectiv Energy Supply, Inc. has purchased the assets of thePennsylvania office of Black Hills Energy Resources, a gasmarketing operation that was a subsidiary of Black Hills Corp. Thepurchase brings Conectiv an office located in Allentown, PA, thatserves more than 300 gas customers in the tri-state area. Thecustomers primarily are industrial and commercial consumers in theUGI, PECO, Penn Fuel, and Columbia of Pennsylvania service areas.

“Prior to our acquisition by Conectiv Energy we were limited toproviding natural gas to our customers,” said Ted Fritz, a regionalmanager with Conectiv and former vice president of Black Hills.”Now we can enhance the level of quality service and also provideelectricity, oil, propane and a wide variety of services to meetall the energy needs of our customers.

Conectiv Energy sells electricity and gas to Mid-Atlanticresidential and business customers with a choice of suppliers. Itcurrently has 80,000 competitive energy customers primarily inPennsylvania and Maryland. Most of its customers are electricbuyers, according to a spokesman, who added the company has beenattempting to diversify its mix of energy customers.
