Caledonia Energy Partners LLC has asked the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for authorization to raise the maximum storage capacity at its facility in Lowndes and Monroe counties, MS, to 28.1 Bcf from 22.7 Bcf. Working gas capacity would increase to 22 Bcf from 16.9 Bcf. The maximum daily withdrawal rate would be 550 MMcf/d, and the maximum injection rate would be 558 MMcf/d. Caledonia Energy said it would not have to construct any additional facilities to make the additional capacity available.

GMX Resources Inc. has partially completed a horizontal well in the Texas play with an initial production (IP) rate of 10.1 MMcf/d. The Bosh No. 19H was drilled with a 4,153-foot lateral and stimulated with 12 hydraulic fracture (frac) stages. However, as GMX was completing the well, an obstruction prevented the last 5.5 frac stages from being accessed. After several attempts GMX ramped up the well from about 6.5 frac stages across 2,174 feet of the open lateral. GMX said it would access the entire lateral “when pressures are favorable.” GMX also completed a joint operating agreement with a subsidiary of EXCO Resources Inc. to develop a leasehold in the Scottsville area of Harrison County, TX. EXCO Operating Co. LP would contribute leasehold rights in its Hamilton Unit and GMX would contribute rights in its Verhalen Prospect, creating a 3,850-acre block of leasehold. GMX is operator with an 84.3% working interest; EXCO holds the remaining stake.
