Noting forecasts of 30-degree temperatures in central and northern Florida Wednesday morning, Florida Gas Transmission issued an Overage Alert Day Tuesday, setting the tolerance for negative daily imbalances at 25%. The pipeline said it would not interrupt previously scheduled market-area ITS-1 service below the elapsed prorated scheduled quantity.

Citing previous postings detailing its operating concerns resulting from a Sept. 14 pipe rupture downstream of Appomattox, VA (see Daily GPI, Nov. 17; Sept. 30), Transco said Tuesday these “challenges still exist and may be aggravated by market demands expected in conjunction with the below-normal temperatures forecast for the entire Transco market area beginning Friday.” In order to ensure its ability to manage system imbalances and handle intraday volatility, Transco said it will implement a systemwide Imbalance OFO Friday, effective until further notice. The OFO requires that due-shipper imbalances be limited to 5% during each gas day, the pipeline said, adding that shippers with due-pipe imbalances will not be subject to penalty.

CIG said Tuesday repairs have been completed at Niobrara Compressor Station and it has lifted the associated force majeure and resumed taking nominations there. The outage, which began Oct. 31, had reduced station capacity to zero.
