TEPPCO has scheduled a concurrent Bird Station shutdown and Pioneer processing facility turnaround in the Jonah Gathering Field to occur both Oct. 5 and Oct. 12. According to the Kern River bulletin board, TEPPCO has estimated that each day’s work will require downtime of approximately 15 hours and an estimated curtailment of 753 MMcf. Because most Kern River supply comes to it either through the Opal Plant downstream of Jonah or the Pioneer receipt points, there will be an impact to Kern River shippers. During TEPPCO’s Oct. 5 maintenance, Kern River will take the opportunity to complete semi-annual maintenance on Fillmore Station’s Unit #2, previously scheduled for Oct. 19, and the Warm Springs Station hot tap, previously scheduled for Oct. 20. The pipeline asked shippers and operators to align their supplies with markets so that no banking occurred Tuesday (in preparation for the Oct. 5 work) and no drafting occurs on Oct. 5.

During a routine coating inspection of the mainline between the Muddy Creek and Kemmerer Compressor Stations, a section of pipe requiring immediate repair was discovered, Northwest said Tuesday. Repair work is under way and expected to be completed by the end of Friday’s gas day. The associated reduction of mainline pressure at Muddy Creek means that Kemmerer capacity must be cut to 590,000 Dth/d for the Oct. 6-7 gas days, Northwest said. Currently, primary nominations through Kemmerer are scheduled at 475,000 Dth/d, it added, and thus only alternate capacity cuts are expected. However, if primary nominations though Kemmerer exceed 590,000 Dth/d before the work is completed, Northwest will declare a deficiency period and cut primary nominations accordingly.

Repairs have been completed at Fidlar Station (see Daily GPI, Oct. 4), Questar said, and it restored maximum nominations of 280,000 Dth/d at the ML 80 scheduling point effective with Cycle 2 nominations for Tuesday’s gas day.

Gulf South will perform scheduled maintenance on the Jackson (MS) Compressor Station’s Unit # 2 starting Wednesday and continuing until further notice. Capacity through the station could be affected by as much as 125 MMcf/d, the pipeline said. It posted a list of five locations in Cameron Parish, LA where Gulf South is unable to validate their operational status due to Hurricane Rita and thus the points and their associated paths are being scheduled to zero. Gulf South also said the Poydras Citygate and Meraux Refinery delivery points on its Venice Junction to Chalmette Line in southeast Louisiana, where it issued a force majeure notice Sept. 8, have been verified as operational again. The force majeure remains in effect for three other delivery points and three receipt points on the line, Gulf South said.

The Bondad Station’s turbines will be down one at a time for mechanical inspections Oct. 18-21, reducing station capacity by 135 MMcf/d from its base of 746 MMcf/d, El Paso said. It also plans to take Gallup Station’s C turbine down Oct. 25 to repair an air leak, and White Rock Station’s #1 unit will be down to replace combustion liners Oct. 26. Those projects will cut San Juan Basin capacity by 325 MMcf/d and 180 MMcf/d respectively from a base of 2,840 MMcf/d, El Paso said. See the bulletin board for a variety of other El Paso maintenance scheduled this month. The most significant impact will be a reduction of North Mainline capacity on Oct. 25 by 405 MMcf/d from a base of 2,276 MMcf/d.
