Devon Energy Corp. said it signed agreements that fix the priceit will receive for 55,000 MMBtu/d of its 1999 production at$2.01/MMBtu. In addition, Devon currently has agreements covering8,000 MMBtu/d of its Canadian production at an average price ofC$2.32/MMBtu.

In a related matter, Devon announced that its expected mergerwith Canadian-based Northstar Energy Corp. will result inadditional fixed pricing for 1999 production. Northstar currentlyhas agreements in place covering 104,000 MMBtu/d of 1999 productionat an average price of C$2/MMBtu. The merger of Devon and Northstarwas announced on June 29 and is expected to be completed Thursdayfollowing shareholder votes.

Northstar’s oil and gas properties are concentrated in Albertaand northeastern British Columbia. Devon is one of the top 20public independent oil and gas companies in the U.S. as measured byoil and gas reserves.
