The Coastal Corporation has announced that its Coastal Power
subsidiary will build a 265 MW gas-fired power plant northeast of
Denver. Fulton Cogeneration Associates, L.P., an affiliate of
Coastal Power, will own and operate the plant and has entered into
a power purchase agreement with Public Service Company of Colorado
beginning in May of 2000. Construction of the facility will begin
this summer near Brush, CO. Colorado Interstate Gas Company, also a
subsidiary of The Coastal Corporation, will build a pipeline from
its Young and Fort Morgan natural gas storage fields to transport
natural gas to the plant.
