The currently one-member Wisconsin Public Service Commission issoon to be restored to full three-commissioner status. Thecommission has been down to one member, Joe Mettner, since May 15when Chair Cheryl L. Parrino stepped down. Previously, Dan Eastmanleft his commission post April 30.

Appointed to replace Eastman is John Farrow, currently chairmanof the mechanical engineering section at the Milwaukee School ofEngineering. He takes office July 20. Replacing Parrino is Ave Bie,deputy secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, who isexpected to take office in early August. Bie was appointed May 29,and Farrow was appointed May 4.

Commission spokesman Jeff Butson said despite some concernsraised by the Wisconsin Citizen’s Utility Board (CUB), thecommission has operated as usual with just Mettner. “CUB raisedsome concerns, but it’s certainly allowed within state statutes.We’re also relying on an attorney general’s opinion some time agothat allowed us to go ahead with [continuing business with onecommissioner].”
