Interest is growing in expanding infrastructure to get more natural gas to the Gulf Coast as LNG exports are poised to double this decade and other end-users will need to secure more supplies, a panel of midstream executives said at an industry conference last week.

LNG terminals, natural gas producers, local distribution companies (LDC) and some industrial consumers are all exploring how to bring more infrastructure online as competition for supplies is likely to intensify as the export trade booms. The trend could help reverse a lull in activity across the midstream space, executives said.
