Northern Natural Gas did not extend a System Overrun Limitation for all market-area zones beyond Friday, ending it after a two-day run.

Algonquin said weather and load forecasts had improved sufficiently for it to cancel Friday the Critical Notice that was posted Tuesday. Beginning at the start of Saturday’s gas day it had “a limited amount of capacity available for AO/AIT and due-shipper gas.

Due to colder-than-normal forecasts for its entire market area over the weekend, Transco was not allowing any make-up delivery transactions to be scheduled for Friday through Sunday. It also restricted the tolerance at pooling points to 1% or 1,000 dekatherms for shippers with negatively scheduled imbalances.

Unit #2 at the Owyhee Compressor Station experienced a bearing failure Thursday morning and is currently unavailable, Northwest said. It was working with the compressor vendor to acquire replacement parts and expected to return the compressor to service no later than Monday (Jan. 20). Station capacity was reduced to 135,000 Dth/d from design capacity of 157,000 Dth/d, but based on current operations, the outage was not expected to impact customers. However, if primary firm nominations exceed available capacity as a result of this work, Northwest will declare a deficiency period and cut nominations accordingly.

Sonat said it completed repairs to the Main Pass 311A line as expected last Monday (see Daily GPI, Jan. 9), but final inspections were not completed until Thursday, with no problems being found. The associated force majeure was canceled and flow was restored at seven points affected by the outage that began last month on the offshore Louisiana line.

Alamo Lake 1 turbine repairs have been completed, but later than expected, El Paso said. Because of the delay, the planned shutdown of the Alamo Lake 2 turbine was postponed until February. Capacity of the Havasu Crossover was restored to 685 MMcf/d effective with Friday’s Cycle 2 nominations.
