Florida Gas Transmission lifted an Overage Alert Day notice Friday that had been in place since July 15.

Tennessee said Friday it continues to experience “significant daily disparities between scheduled and allocated quantities with certain shippers across the system” and that they impact the pipeline’s operational storage refill plan. It may be necessary to institute daily variance charges on specific customers under Rate Schedules LMS-MA, LMS-PA and SA. Tennessee planned to begin monitoring the situation Saturday and effective Monday, customers with daily variances outside the pipeline’s tolerance (the greater of ±10% of the scheduled quantities or ±1,000 dekatherms) will become subject to the charges.

Based on its most recent information, Sonat expects an unscheduled pipeline outage just north of its Franklinton (LA) Compressor Station to continue until the last week in August. The outage began last month and originally was expected to end June 27 (see Daily GPI, June 20). The prognosis for return to service was later revised to mid-August (see Daily GPI, June 25). Until the repairs are completed, capacity in the South Louisiana supply area (upstream of Franklinton) will remain at reduced levels.

August will be the busiest month of 2002 for Westcoast maintenance outages. The McMahon processing facility will be totally shut down Aug. 6 for a plant turnaround that is scheduled to end Aug. 20. The Pine River plant will join McMahon in a total shutdown for Aug. 12 only because a planned outage at Compressor Station 2. A week after the McMahon outage ends, the Fort Nelson plant will begin a turnaround that will last until Sept. 21. Unlike the McMahon work, during which there will be no processing activity, Fort Nelson will have 36% firm acid gas treatment availability during its turnaround. See the bulletin board for details.
