It took longer to accomplish than previously expected (see Daily GPI, Jan. 16), but Westcoast was able to restore processing capacity at its McMahon Gas Plant near Fort St. John, BC, to its normal 630 MMcf/d around mid-afternoon Wednesday. The capacity had been cut by about a third Tuesday due to excessive foaming of a monoethanol amine (MEA) treatment solution causing a shutdown of processing train #3.

Gulf South will begin scheduled maintenance today on its Index 130 segment between the Louisiana communities of Napoleonville and Montpelier. The work will continue through Jan. 24 and could reduce Index 130 capacity by as much as 100 MMcf/d.

Algonquin said it was not restricting transportation through the Cromwell Compressor Station for today because it expected the turbine compressor there to be repaired and available for service by the beginning of the gas day. However, should the turbine not be ready for service as planned, Algonquin will post any necessary restrictions as soon as possible.

El Paso shut in part of Line 1200 upstream of Seligman Station for unscheduled maintenance, reducing the capacity of the North Mainline by 10 MMcf/d effective with scheduling for Cycle 3 Wednesday and Cycle 1 today. The pipeline estimated that the outage will continue through today’s gas day.
