The May 7 fire at NGPL’s Station 812 in Atoka County, OK (see DailyGPI, May 10) totally destroyed theservice building at the site. The gas compressors were not damaged butthey can’t be operated due to the loss of equipment in the servicebuilding, NGPL said. The fire’s cause is still under investigation. Nodate for returning the station to service has been projected, butbecause of the extent of the damage the pipeline said Station 812″will be out of service for at least one month and probably longer.”During the outage gas will continue to flow through a bypass aroundthe station, but NGPL is able to schedule only 135,000 MMBtu/d out ofthe impacted area, Segment 16. Based on current nomination levels onlya limited amount of ITS/AOR volumes will be allowed, the pipelinesaid.

Florida Gas Transmission reported Friday unplanned maintenance atStation 7.5 in Port Barre, LA, which extended beyond the anticipatedcompletion date (see Daily GPI, May 12),had been finished and upstream volumes returned to full capacity.

Kinder Morgan returned a compressor unit that had been down atHerndon Compressor Station to service May 7, but said Friday it isstill experiencing intermittent problems with the unit. There wasno impact to shipper nominations Friday, but the pipeline said ifrepairs were not completed by the end of that gas day, it expecteda potential reduction in capacity through Herndon (Segment 775) to220,000 MMBtu/d. That would make it necessary to schedule down firmprimary volumes by up to 14% for Saturday’s gas day.
