Following approval by the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, Bison Pipeline was restored to maximum allowable operating pressure of 1,440 psig along with having a force majeure declaration lifted at noon Saturday. “Gas had already been bought for the weekend, so we didn’t go up immediately” on pressure, said spokesman David Dodson. “It is looking like nominations for gas day Tuesday will be about 360-370 MMcf, which is what we were flowing before the July 20 incident” (see Daily GPI, July 25). Bison has a total design capacity of 477 MMcf/d.

Southern ended Monday the Type 6 OFO against long imbalances that had been in effect Saturday and Sunday.

Rockies Express lifted late Friday afternoon the force majeure it had declared that morning at Julesburg Compressor Station. A transformer failure on the electric power provider’s transmission system upstream of Julesburg has been remedied, the pipeline said in announcing that until further notice quantities through Segment 240 will be scheduled to full capacity.

Thanks to getting a go-ahead Thursday from the California Public Utilities Commission, Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) is about to ramp up pressurization at its California Gas Transmission (CGT) system’s inlet side of the Topock Compressor Station on the Arizona border. As part of its response to the CGT explosion in September 2010 that killed eight people and devastated a San Bruno, CA ,neighborhood, PG&E had announced in March a reduction of maximum operating pressure at Topock, which limited maximum receipt volumes from both El Paso and Transwestern. CGT anticipates that the return of El Paso and Transwestern to their normal capabilities of 1,140 MMcf/d and 400 MMcf/d, respectively, will become effective late this week.

Transco will be conducting anomaly investigations near Station 30 in Wharton County, TX, from Wednesday through Oct. 19. The work is on a single line section and will isolate Transco’s system upstream of the work location, so during the outage shippers with receipt locations upstream of Station 30 must find active physical delivery locations upstream of the station, the pipeline said. See the bulletin board for other conditions and lists of locations that will not be available for flow to Transco during this work along with active delivery points upstream of Station 30 that may be available. Because the outage will isolate a portion of the system and thus affect operating pressures there, Transco said it may not be able to accommodate certain receipt/delivery combinations.
