Because it has not yet seen a decrease in the carbon dioxide (CO2) content at its Beatrice, NE, interconnect with Trailblazer Pipeline (see Daily GPI, March 31), Northern Natural Gas said it plans to go ahead and reduce the interconnect’s operationally available capacity starting Thursday to 300,000 Dth/d. Northern said it intends to get the volume of high-CO2 gas being delivered by Trailblazer low enough to meet its CO2 tariff maximum to 2.0% or less in the market area. Northern also plans to post a System Underrun Limitation for its market area Thursday. See the bulletin board for other details.

Declaring a force majeure event, El Paso reported taking Line 3152 out of service Monday night to assess and repair damage caused when a third party struck the line. Based on current conditions there is no impact to mainline capacity, El Paso said, but it shut in two meters to isolate the section and facilitate repairs. It expected to return the line to service by the end of Tuesday afternoon.

Southern Star Central has scheduled two annual maintenance projects, both starting Saturday, that will restrict capacity. The LS 491 work from Skull Creek to Rawlins, which will last through April 16, will cause an 18% reduction to 159,695 Dth/d at Riner Station in Sweetwater County, WY. LS 490 maintenance from Rawlins to Hesston, scheduled through April 23, will cut capacity by 5% to 175,018 Dth/d at St. Francis Station in Cheyenne County, KS, the pipeline said.
