Southern Natural Gas will implement an OFO Type 6 for short imbalances Thursday. There will be no penalties for short imbalances up to 2% or 200 Dth, whichever is greater. Tiered penalties will be applied for larger imbalances, up to a maximum of $15/Dth for those exceeding 8%. The pipeline had warned Tuesday that such an OFO was highly likely for Thursday and Friday.

Based on the progress of pipe maintenance that began Tuesday morning on Index 818 (42-inch diameter Expansion), Gulf South said it began accepting Index 818 nominations for confirmation beginning with the Timely Cycle for Thursday’s gas day. Gulf South had expected the work to last about three days (see Daily GPI, Jan. 13).

Tennessee said it completed repairs late last week of its 36-inch diameter Bluewater East Leg and over the weekend began pressurizing the line in 200-psig increments to test the work and check for additional leaks. Following each 200-psig increment, helicopters flew over the line to search for additional issues, Tennessee said, adding that the line’s pressure was equalized to that of its downstream system and no additional leaks were found. The Ship Shoal 110 and Ship Shoal 111 meters were allowed to resume flows Monday afternoon. See the bulletin board for further details of Tennessee’s planned work on the Bluewater System.
