With linepack starting to bump up against its maximum target levels and threatening to greatly exceed them over the weekend, Pacific Gas & Electric issued a systemwide Stage 2 high-inventory OFO for Friday on its California Gas Transmission system. Penalties of $1/Dth were set for positive daily imbalances exceeding a 6% tolerance. The giant dual utility had issued a systemwide low-inventory OFO Wednesday.

Saying its linepack was lower, Florida Gas Transmission issued an Overage Alert Day for market-area customers Thursday. The tolerance for negative daily imbalances was 25%.

ANR said Thursday it had completed repairs at Sandwich (IL) Compressor Station and lifted all associated capacity restrictions.

CIG said it will cancel a force majeure at Niobrara Compressor Station (see Daily GPI, Aug. 7) at the start of Friday’s gas day. Replacement parts have been delivered to the station, CIG said, and it anticipated completion of the repair work in time to schedule Niobrara for full service effective with the Timely nominations cycle for Friday.

Projecting that its cleaning pig operation on the South Section 28 line south of White Castle (LA) Compressor Station would be completed Thursday, Southern Natural Gas said it was restoring West Leg capacity (Group 40) to 770,000 Dth/d on the Timely nominations cycle for Friday’s gas day. Additional pigging on this line is tentatively scheduled for Sept. 23 and Sept. 25, Southern said. Each pigging day could require capacity reductions and producers will see higher than normal operating pressures, it added. Southern also said that due to contractor issues, pipeline maintenance between Olga platform and Toca (LA) Compressor Station has been delayed and will not start Sunday as previously posted.
